Description

2026 Flower ornament Dandelion on base from Forsølvningsfabrikken, is a copper-plated dandelion that has been electroplated with a layer of copper and subsequently oxidised. A genuine dandelion is hiding under the beautiful copper surface. The surface metal can develop patina or become mat with time. The flower will develop verdigris patina if placed outside. 


Sara, on the flower of the year:  
I have many favourite flowers, and the dandelion is high on the list. For me, the yellow flower is synonymous with spring and also a sign, summer is on the way. I am fascinated by the transformation it undergoes, from open to closed flower and then the dandelion clock spreading seeds on the wind, when they are finally ready to fly off into the world. I am also impressed by the plants ability to survive in places, where a plant shouldn’t be able to grow. A plant with grit and resilience!

Flower of the year as a mobile
The flowers of the year from Forsølvningsfabrikken are sold separately but are also designed to be used with our flower mobile, where you can collect and hang different flowers according to the season. The flower mobile will be released in 2025.
