How to treat produts made of olive wood
Olive wood products require only simple care to maintain their beautiful appearance and long lifespan. Always wash them by hand using warm water and a mild, preferably fragrance-free soap. Avoid the dishwasher and soaking, as heat and prolonged exposure to water can damage the wood fibers and cause cracking. Dry the product immediately after washing with a dish towel and allow it to air-dry.
To prevent the olive wood from drying out, regular oil treatment is recommended. Use a food-safe oil such as olive oil, cooking oil, or an approved mineral oil/beeswax. Apply a thin layer with a cloth or paper towel, let it absorb for a few hours or overnight, then wipe off any excess oil. Repeat the treatment when the wood appears dry or dull – typically about once a month, depending on use.
